Vancouver's CNM culture
Vancouver has a genuine and accessible CNM community, smaller than Toronto's but punching above its weight given the city's population. The community character is shaped by Vancouver's particular culture: outdoor-oriented, progressive, significantly multicultural, and with an interesting tension between the city's high cost of living (which puts real pressure on shared housing and community space) and its genuinely liberal social values.
The CNM community is concentrated in the east side and downtown: Commercial Drive ("the Drive"), Grandview-Woodland, Mount Pleasant, and the West End. The Drive in particular has a long history as Vancouver's alternative and progressive neighbourhood, vegetarian restaurants, the LGBTQ+ community, artists, and activists have coexisted there for decades, and CNM practitioners are a natural part of that ecosystem.
Vancouver's proximity to Seattle means there's meaningful cross-border community connection. Seattle has a strong poly and CNM community, and some Vancouver residents attend Seattle events and vice versa. The Pacific Northwest CNM community has a regional cohesion that doesn't exist in most border areas.

Feeld
Feeld has a real user base in Vancouver, smaller than Toronto's but functional in the downtown and east side. The app works here for CNM-specific dating, though the pool is thin enough that supplementing with OkCupid is advisable.
OkCupid
OkCupid is often the more productive CNM platform in Vancouver than Feeld, given the larger overall user base and CNM-active population. The relationship structure settings carry genuine signal in a city with a progressive dating culture.

The Meetup.com group and Facebook community are the most accessible current resources. The community is small enough that genuine connections form quickly with consistent attendance.
Commercial Drive community
The Drive has an informal poly social network that operates through existing community connections and the neighbourhood's general alternative social infrastructure. More accessible through existing relationships than through public listings.
Relationship anarchy community
Vancouver has an active RA community, particularly in the east side and among the queer and activist communities. Events and discussion groups surface through queer feminist organising networks.
Kink and leather scene

Practical notes
Cost of living
Vancouver is one of the most expensive cities in Canada, with housing costs that have displaced many community members from the neighbourhoods where CNM community has historically concentrated. Community spaces and venues face similar pressure. The community has adapted, more events in private homes, more reliance on parks and public spaces during summer, but the venue landscape is less stable than the city's progressive reputation might suggest.
Pacific Northwest cross-border community
The Vancouver–Seattle axis is a real community connection. The border is straightforward to cross for most visitors. Attending major Seattle CNM or kink events is practical from Vancouver, and the Pacific Northwest poly community has events that draw from both sides of the border.
Compact geography
Vancouver is geographically compact relative to Los Angeles or the Toronto metro area. The community's anchor neighbourhoods are connected by transit and bikeable in good weather. This makes participation in community events considerably easier than in car-dependent cities.
