The UK CNM dating landscape
The UK has a substantial and active CNM community — particularly in London, but meaningfully present in other major cities too. The platform landscape, however, is shaped by the same global forces as everywhere else: Feeld dominates specialist CNM, OkCupid handles the mainstream-with-CNM-options space, and most other platforms either don't have UK-specific depth or serve a particular sub-community.
The critical variable in the UK is geography. London is among Feeld's strongest global markets — the density of active users there rivals New York and Berlin. Outside London, the picture changes considerably. Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, and Birmingham have CNM communities, but the platform experience depends far more on local user density than on the platform's global strength.
Feeld — Best overall in UK cities
In London: Feeld is the right first platform. The active user base is large enough that the app works as intended — regular new profiles, active matching, a genuine community feel. London is one of Feeld's strongest markets globally; if you're going to use it anywhere in the UK, London is where it pays off most.
In Manchester and Birmingham: Feeld is present and worth using, but the pool is meaningfully thinner. Expect to supplement with OkCupid. The active user density is lower, which means longer waits between matches and a smaller community of regularly active users.
In Edinburgh and Bristol: the CNM community is real and engaged, but Feeld's user base in these cities is thinner still. Both have active poly communities offline — munches, discussion groups — but the app pool doesn't reflect the full community size. OkCupid becomes more useful relative to Feeld here.
In smaller UK cities and rural areas: Feeld is not practical as a primary platform. The active user base outside major cities is too sparse. OkCupid and Hinge, used with honest CNM disclosure, are more productive.

OkCupid — Best outside London
OkCupid has a real and active CNM community across the UK — not as CNM-concentrated as Feeld, but with a much larger overall user base that holds up in smaller cities where Feeld thins. The non-monogamy relationship status and filtering options work well enough to identify CNM-open people within the broader user pool.
The question-based matching system is particularly useful in the UK context, where CNM literacy varies considerably more across the user base than on specialist platforms. A high match score on OkCupid does meaningful filtering work — surface-level compatibility on CNM-relevant questions is a better signal than appearance alone when you're swiping in a mixed-literacy pool.
Note on pricing: OkCupid's premium tier is on the expensive side — around £20–25/month — and the relationship status filter is gated behind premium, which is a frustration for CNM users specifically. The free tier is more functional than Feeld's, which partly compensates.

#Open — Worth checking in London
#Open has a meaningful events presence in London — one of its more active cities globally. If you're in London and interested in CNM community as much as individual dating, checking the #Open events calendar is worthwhile before deciding whether to invest in the platform.
Outside London, #Open's events layer largely disappears, and with it the platform's main differentiator. As a pure dating app in UK cities outside London, it's too thin to be a primary platform.
By city: what actually works where
London
Feeld is the primary platform. #Open is worth using alongside for events and community. OkCupid adds volume. The offline community — London Poly Munch, LPUK, kink events — is one of the most active in the world. See our full London CNM guide for detail.
Manchester
Feeld and OkCupid are both worth running. Feeld has a real user base here; OkCupid adds scale. Manchester has its own poly munch and kink community — search Meetup.com and Fetlife for current events. The scene is smaller than London but genuine and active.
Edinburgh
OkCupid tends to outperform Feeld in Edinburgh purely on user density, though Feeld is present. Edinburgh's CNM community is known for its warmth and relative closeness — the community is small enough that offline routes (the Edinburgh poly munch, university-affiliated groups) can be more productive than app dating for making initial connections.
Bristol
Bristol has a well-regarded poly and alternative community, partially concentrated around the city's arts and student populations. Feeld and OkCupid both have users here. The offline scene — events, munches — is active relative to the city's size and worth exploring alongside apps.
Birmingham
Feeld is functional here but thin. OkCupid is the more practical primary platform. The community exists but is less concentrated than in London or Edinburgh relative to city size.
Outside major cities
In rural areas and smaller UK towns, app dating for CNM is genuinely difficult — the pool is simply too small. Mainstream apps with honest CNM disclosure in profiles can surface CNM-open people within a broader dating pool. Offline routes — regional munches, travelling to larger city events — often work better than relying on apps alone.
The lifestyle community in the UK
The UK swinging and lifestyle community operates on different platforms from the poly community. Feeld has some lifestyle users, but it's not where the lifestyle world concentrates.
Fab Swingers is the dominant UK-specific platform for the lifestyle community, with strong coverage across the country including outside major cities. The free tier is genuinely functional, Gold membership is affordable at approximately £5–10/month, and the events directory is the most comprehensive UK lifestyle listing available. See our full Fab Swingers review for a complete assessment.
Kasidie has some UK presence but is primarily a North American platform. SLS has UK users but is in decline generally. For the UK lifestyle community specifically, Fab Swingers is the starting point.
UK-specific strategy
If you're in London: Feeld first, #Open for events, OkCupid for volume. The offline community is rich enough to be worth engaging — a London Poly Munch appearance is worth more than a month of app swiping for getting oriented.
If you're in Manchester, Edinburgh, or Bristol: run Feeld and OkCupid simultaneously. Engage with the offline community early — these cities are small enough that relationships built at events translate into app connections, and vice versa.
If you're outside major cities: OkCupid as primary. Hinge or Bumble with explicit CNM profile disclosure. Consider travelling to the nearest major city's poly events periodically — the return on time investment is often better than grinding apps in a thin local pool.
If your interest is swinging/lifestyle: Fab Swingers for UK coverage. Kasidie as a supplement if you travel to North America.
